Winemaking with Vision

TADDEI Wine now have over 23 vintages in barrel and bottle. We have fulfilled our original vision of producing some of the most desirable and sought after wines from Sonoma County and now make wine from some of the most sought after vineyards and AVA’s in California.

The TADDEI winery is within the Beverage District of Windsor California, a few miles south of Healdsburg. We are producing wine almost exclusively under the TADDEI Wine label, reserving the Super Sonoman label for very special blends exclusively from Sonoma County fruit.

TADDEI Wines has expanded out to many vineyards sourcing the best fruit and signing leases for estate vineyards within Napa and other outlying AVA’s. Our goal remains the same, through proper vineyard management, hard work and the desire to create a memorable wine experience, we hope to craft wine that is both approachable and age worthy which can be shared with family and friends for years to come.

It began with a desire to make the best Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County has ever produced.

The diverse geology of Sonoma County and its topography have made it the ideal location to make world class wine but the grapes that are most often associated with the region have been Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Zinfandel to name a few. If you were looking for an elegant, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon however, the choice was easy, go to the Napa Valley. We believed in Sonoma County and sought to bring you another choice.

We discovered a series of micro vineyards on the slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains above the Russian River Valley. Sitting at altitudes varying from 900 feet to 1500 feet above Sea level. The vineyards are almost always out of the fog and reap the rewards of warm nurturing sunshine. It’s a place where the cool air of the ocean pours in at night during the ripening months of the summer, lending to exceptional hang time, thus aiding in the physiological development of well balanced, ripe fruit.

We launched our first wine program under the Super Sonoman wine label. The first grapes for our wine program were harvested in October of 2003 and rested in barrel for two years before bottling. Our 2003 vintage sold out within a few months. Ten years later we introduced our TADDEI Wine label, highlighting our production of the some the finest vineyards outside of Sonoma County.
